Ashley Young NOT Looking For Villa Exit

Ashley Young NOT Looking For Villa Exit

Ashley Young has an interview in The Sun today saying once again he is happy at Villa and isn`t angling for a move after putting contract talks on hold.

I say ... once again ... because we had something early September: Press Are Wrong - Ashley Young Will NOT Be Off where Ash told a good friend of mine: "I love it at Villa, I am going nowhere, I really want the fans to know that'

Also, remember Harry Redknapp has also rubbished reports that he is after Ash: Redknapp NOT After Ashley Young

Anyway, Ash said in the Sun report:

'There's nothing about me departing. All I'm doing is concentrating on my football. I don't want to be distracted by anything else. I've not said I'm leaving and I'm not taking my focus off football. They don't need to worry about anything with me.'

He also praises the fans who he says have been 'brilliant` with him and are always singing his name. "Fingers crossed, come Sunday, I can go out there and repay them big-time in the derby."#

Amen to that!

'I'm concentrating 100 per cent on Villa, I'm not thinking about moving.'

He also says that he likes the new free role he is sometimes given and that he aims to keep impressing Gerard Houllier.

He added: 'The gaffer's been fantastic. The club can keep progressing and pushing for that Champions League spot.'

People from other teams will comment stindy remarks, but just remember not every team has players like urs. We had Barry And Milner, but Amen to them!!! Young will stay 100%

Talk is cheap, i'd like to believe him but after being shafted by barry and milner it's hard not to think he is going. To be honest i think only spurs may come in for him and if they dont get champions league then it's a pointless move because bale will be off and VDV is using them to reignite his career there just a stepping stone for him so in my opinion he would be better of here.

he does not want to sign a contract as he does not want any not signing one it causes nothing but distractions with press & public all commenting on whether he will stay or not & he has to keep coming out and denying rumours etc...surely would of been easier to just sign one...keeping options open & seeing what our ambitions are with O'Neill going (who brought him) & barry & milner leaving...think he would be happy to stay if we can continue to make progress, but is clearly an ambitious man himself, with aspirations of playing for england regularly & in europe, whilst wanting to contest for trophies....hope he can achieve that with us!!!
