Little snippet in the Express & Star claimed yesterday that Villa are tracking Manchester City and former Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz. Details: Click Here

Fieldy: Villa have announced that they will again be auctioning off poppy embroidered shirts to raise much needed cash for Acorns and Help the Heroes. As fans will remember last season Villa auctioned off the match day shirts, raising a total of £8,500 and they are hoping the same amount can be raised again this year as we take on Manchester United.

Our away clash at the Sty and our home game against Soulless City have been moved for TV coverage. Details: Blues and Man City Fixture Switches

Fieldy: With Stiliyan Petrov looking at a 2 month spell on the sidelines, Gerard Houllier has selected the Hokey-Cokey as our stand in captain. Full article: Reo-Captain

Fieldy: Stewart Downing thinks that this weeks Cup and Derby games are the perfect way to erase the Sunderland memory. Speaking to the Official Site Downing said that he thinks the two games have come at the right time following our defeat in the last game as the team will simply have to be upbeat and positive over the coming days. Full article: Click Here

Fieldy: Stewart Downing has said that it's unlikely anybody will be taking the mick out of Dunne for his own goal at Sunderland, least he certainly won't be. Speaking to SSN Downing said that the team wouldn't be blaming Dunne for the unfortunate own goal because his performance level is usually so high it would be unfair to go over the top about the occasional error. The day many have waiting for has finally arrived, the club has announced the on sale dates for the new home and away strips. Full details: Shirt Sale Dates Announced!

Just a brief update on the Stiliyan Petrov injury. As feared, the injury is worse than first anticipated and he will have to have the injured knee operated on. He'll be out for at least two months. Gerard Houllier told the official site: 'Unfortunately I think we have lost Stiliyan Petrov for maybe at least two months. We will see if he needs an operation or not - we will know that by the middle of the week.'

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he has tapped up Ashley Young.... but obviously only in jest! 'I'm tapping him up - I've been round his house a couple of times. We've done the deal; he's okay.' He actually makes a very valid point though, with the fantastic Gareth Bale in the Spurs team, why would he need Ash as well? 'We've got Gareth Bale - what would I do with him? I can't get Niko Kranjcar on the pitch; he's a fantastic player. What am I going to do with another left winger, give myself another headache?' He says Spurs are already strong on the wing and that he has at no time tapped up Young. So there you go. That won't stop the next paper report when news is quiet... Young To Spurs...!

Fieldy: Starlet Fabian Delph looks set to get his Christmas wish as it's expected he'll return to action early in the New Year. Speaking with SSN Delph said his recovery was going brilliantly and that he is actually ahead of the original schedule set for him. Full details: Delphinitely Fab News
