Stiliyan Petrov Injury Update

Update on Stiliyan Petrov who limped off in the game v Sunderland last Saturday.

It seems the Villa skipper has injured his knee and will undergo a scan this week to find out the extent of the injury.

Gerard Houllier said:

'He will have a scan. I think it could be a lateral ligament injury which may mean two or three weeks (to recover) if it is a grade one injury.'

Ominously he warns: 'If it's a grade two or three, maybe it could be longer.'

Not got a big enough squad to cope with the injuries, lets hope he is back sooner rather than later!

We will miss him BIG time. In his absence people will appreciate how much he does for the team. Big chance for Sidwell

Any player is a miss in a squad as small as ours. I agree that Gabby is a bigger loss, his threat upfront and Ash back on the wing would see the new look footie given a cutting edge
