'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Delphinitely Fab News

Starlet Fabian Delph looks set to get his Christmas wish as it's expected he'll return to action early in the New Year.

Speaking with SSN Delph said his recovery was going brilliantly and that he is actually ahead of the original schedule set for him.

The medical staff keep telling him to slow down, but he's determined he won't be out for a minute longer than necessary.

He returned to light training a month ago, and has even taken part in some small ball work sessions so the January target will hopefully bare fruit for him.

'Everything has been going really well and the physios, doctors and surgeons have all been brilliant with me. I'm just looking forward to getting back on the pitch and playing again in the New Year.'

There are big things expected from this lad and his bite in midfield could well suit Houllier down to the ground as we bid to toughen up further.

We wish you well Delph, and look forward to seeing you back.

Excellent news, a damn fine prospect.

Been chatting about GG on the forum, apparntly he posted on his facebook page that he was back in training and should be available around about December. Here's hoping, Delph and Gardner could well be a damn good midfield pairing for a few years to come if they can both live up to their potential.

Good news but he still won't play until next year

I think central midfield is the area we have insufficent cover (as well as left back). I can't see Osbourne, Hogg or Salifou playing in the Prem, and I don't think Ireland can play as 'one of two' as shown at Newcastle. That leaves us with Petrov (injured) NRC and Sidders. I suppose Downing could fill in, but we need Delph and Gardner desperately. However, in reality it will be 2011-12 season before we see the best of either of them.

the best? I reckon it will be later than 2011/ 2012
