Fieldy: Gerard Houllier has said it is still too early for him to sit down with Nigel Reo-Coker and discuss a new contract, but he has been impressed with what he's seen so far. Speaking to the Sunday Mercury Houllier explained that he has been impressed by Hokey's drive and determination in midfield and he's been happy with his performances so far in terms of protecting the back four, but he still still Hokey needs more of a run in the team before he can say he's 100% match fit. Had a couple of small article suggestions, I've decided to put them in here as they don't really make 'full' articles so to speak:
Super-Joel: Do villa deserve more? As an Aston Villa fan I know as many other villa fans do, we have a great history, a great support, a winning squad with a successful manager. In the last few years we have been challenging for a champions league place and have had two good cup runs. Sadly we were unable to secure 4th (or higher) and we not able to achieve a cup. We are a club which should be reaching the top heights of the premier league and you cant say we don't deserve it. We haven't won a cup since 1996 but have been too two cup finals and a cup semi-final. I have been a season ticket holder for around 7 years now and I know that our fans are some of the most passionate fans around home and away. So I'm just wondering do villa deserve more than 6th place and no cups??
goonard: Villa deserve more. As a football fan, I'm all for preserving the game. Quality, historical clubs like Arsenal, Aston Villa and, even as an Arsenal fan, Spud's, are being beaten by clubs that do not deserve to be top. Manchester United, Chelsea and City have all been bought by multi-trillion pound owners who pour money into the club. Why should well run clubs, who respect the game be allowed to lose out to these money orientated clubs? Spur's, Arsenal and Villa are good clubs who have got where they are today by being good clubs, its not fair!!!
