Eric Lichaj Set For International Debut

Bob Bradley has decided to give little Brad some company on the flight over to the States and has called up Eric for the first time for their friendlies against Poland and Colombia.

The States take on Poland on October 9 and 3 days later they take on Colombia. It's a good step up for Eric, as his previous experience has come from taking part in the US of A's World Cup training camp prior to the final qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras.

Be very interesting to see if Bradley gives him his first cap, he certainly seems to have come on leaps and bounds since the Peace Cup and the call up will have no doubt done his confidence the world of good.

So congratulations to Eric, he's the latest in a long bunch of youngsters called up for their countries so I suppose I better mention them aswell hadn't I.

Nathan Delfouneso and Marc Albrighton are back in the England U21 set up for the games against Romania.

The two legged play off will dictate who heads to the Euro Championships in Denmark next summer. The first leg kicks off at Carrow Road on October 8, whilst the second takes place in Botosani four days later.

Wee Barry Bannan is back with the Scottish U21 as they look to book their place in the finals also, they take on Iceland (volcanoes allowing) in Reykjavik on October 7, before finishing the job off at Easter Road on October 11.

Couldn't be happier about this. Been waiting a while now for Bradley to realize that Lichaj is the best up and coming RB we have. Look forward to seeing a future, strong US squad with two Villains at the back in Lichaj and Guzan.

Far from being an Eric Lichaj fan, but I daresay that I could still be persuaded otherwise. I've seen nothing since his arrival at Brummagem B6 to suggest that he has what it takes to make a success of his opportunity over here. Good Luck to him on his international call-up though. Who knows, might just be the making of him.

Be interesting to see if he makes the team. Quite often these kinds of call ups are either the making of a player, ornthe point they think they've made it and need do no more!
