The Republic of Ireland have been in contact with Ciaran Clark over a possible switch of allegiance and Villa have confirmed he is considering the offer. Gerard Houllier has praised Carlos Cuellar for his bravery and compared him to Jamie Carragher. High praise indeed, well the Jamie Carragher of old anyway.
