Early Injury News For Spurs

Some good, some bad, some long term sicknotes...Gabby out but others back.

To Gabby first, it seems his pre season complications are back with a vengence and he is now classed as unlikely to feature against Spurs with a reported 'mystery groin injury' to add his ever growing list of calf, hamstring and back troubles so far.

Houllier does have better news on the Dunne and Carew fronts though who are both expected to be in contention for the match following their recent setbacks.

Dunne as we know was substituted at half time against Bolton and played no part in the Blackburn or Wolves clashes given an on going knee issue, but that seems to have cleared up now.

Carew apparently exacerbated his known back troubles whilst pumping the iron in the gym.

There has been no additional concerns for Ireland's dead leg the other week, and speaking of dad legs Ciaran Clark is also back and raring to go after recovering from his but with the return of Dunne he is unlikely to figure.

Speaking on the Official Site Houllier said:

'My concern is Gabby because again he has felt his groin. The problem with his calves has gone, now it's gone up his body.

'I think Dunne will start training on Tuesday - don't forget he's kept his fitness all right. John will train Wednesday.

'Ciaran trained only once before the Wolvse game, that's why he was left out. I don't think he will be in contention because I think Richard will be back.'

So we there we have it, almost a full squad to choose from short of Weimann and Delph.
