Kev Mac Is Back In Reserve Action

Kevin MacDonald is back in reserve action tonight as the second string take on Sunderland.

It's the first reserve clash since he ceased being our caretaker boss and resumed the reigns from Gordon Cowans who was promoted to first team coach.

Sid did well during his reserve caretaking period, losing the opening fixture against Man City before going on to secure back to back wins against Blackpool and Man Utd.

Kevin will no doubt be looking to build on that record and push the second string towards a fourth consecutive reserve title.

The game is at Villa Park and kicks off at 7pm, with commentary on the Official Site as normal.

Mac's first squad is as follows:

Parish, Lichaj, Baker, Devine, Lowry, Hogg, Salifou, Osbourne, Carruthers, Halfhuid, Collins Jnr.

Subs:

Jenkins, Siegrist, Johnson, Deeney, Berry.

Pity Samir Carruthers was injured so early into the game. Decent young prospect, this is the season he will hope to really push on. Never really learned why he was so desperate to quit The Emirates, presumably because he hoped that he'd get more of an opportunity here at Villa Park. Definitely one to watch.
