BigMacs Final First Team Act - An Injury Update

Gerard Houllier may have a central defence headache come Blackburn as it's unlikely Richard Dunne will be available for the Cup clash.

'Richard got a bang on the knee last Monday and did well to play against Bolton, it's too early to say whether he'll be fit for Wednesday,' MacDonald told the press.

The straight swop really would be to see Cuellar come in as he did at half time against Bolton, however I'd hope Houllier would give Clark a straight chance to impress as that lad can only get better with games.

Outside of other known problems, ie Weimann and Delph, the only other possible struggle at the moment would be Downing who suffered a gashed shin, although it's expected he'll be fine for Wednesday.

Hou knows, maybe we'll see Bannan in action given his recent form.

Well if i was houllier i would definately use reo alot more now considerin we havn't got any other options. I along with many others done really rate petrov and he just has nothing to give after 60 minutes or so, i think reo can break up play alot more and be that defensive midfielder i think we are lacking. Lets be honest neither petrov or reo are good enough but what other options can we play? If we go 442 we are too lighweight in the middle and we will get outrun, if we play 433 or 451 our strikers arnt good enough to play on their own up top. We cant win but i think 433 chelsea style would be the best as young and albrighton would carry the striker.

I stand corrected and take your word AVbornandbred regarding the Vienna game. Get most games Down Under, unfortunately not that game. Have to say it's not a dig at NRC per se, and agree totally with you regarding a class midfielder like our new first team coach and the incomparable Merse. Like to see us vary our shape a little more throughout games - this is what I hope Mr Houllier will bring to the team.

The Fonz has lost his way somewhat stennyvilla, well thats my opinion anyway. With his natural talent and ability he needs to be asking himself why he's not a first team regular by now.
