Graham Taylor Completes London To Paris Cycle

As we've mentioned several times on this site, Graham Taylor has been raising money for The Royal British Legion.

I was able to have a quick chat with Sir Graham the other day. He said:

'I completed the London to Paris cycle ride between September 2nd and 6th. It was a fantastic four days with about another 260 people. Having cycled 80 miles from London to Dover on the first day, the second day was extremely hard with the same number of miles but some hills thrown in as well. However, having got through that the third and fourth days were more manageable even allowing for saddle soreness of the highest order. The French people were brilliant in their welcoming and the walk up to the Arc de Triomphe carrying a wreath to the tomb of the unknown soldier was one of the most emotional things I have been involved in.'

He also added, 'The www.justgiving.com/grahamtaylor page will I am told remain open for another month. We have already passed my intended target of £5k and I am most grateful to all those people who have donated.'

You can still donate by visiting JUST GIVING GRAHAM TAYLOR and/or texting 'grahamtaylor' to 70222. The text message costs £3 plus standard network charges.

The Royal British Legion is the nation`s leading Armed Forces charity providing care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families. It is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces. It is of course best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem the red poppy.
