Houllier Press Talk + McAllister Coming?

Houllier Press Talk + McAllister Coming?

Little bit of press talk today about our new manager Gerard Houllier.

Alan Nixon of The People claims that Gary McAllister will say yes to the offer to become Houlliers assistant at Villa.

No approach will be made until Houllier has his feet under the desk at Villa - which WILL happen once the situation with the French Football Federation is sorted, hopefully this week.

McAllister is currently employed at Middlesbrough as Gordon Strachan's coach.

Meanwhile Ian Ridley of The Daily Mail says that Houllier consulted with his heart surgeon before taking the Villa job.

He said: ''When you go into a job you know there will be pressure, that it will be hard work and you won`t sleep every night. You need to make sure your body is ready. I have checked that. I am much healthier and fitter now than I was before.'

Also Houllier has confirmed there is money to spend:

'If we have to improve the team we will. I have been told, if the time is right, we will always invest. At the moment I want to see the players because I think we have a good squad.'

He also says he will do things his own way taking over from MON adding 'I might bring a technical improvement of the team in the training and the way I want them to play.'

To be fair, he does look fitter - htan the Brazilian Ronaldo!!! Only kidding. This kind of improvement is what could buy us 7-10 more points a season. I like it. Come on Hools!
