No Need To Get Shirty

No Need To Get Shirty

Aston Villa have released an official statement concerning the shirt shenanigans which have been a source of anger for many fans.

The statement on the Official Site explains much of what General Krulak had already covered on his thread in the forum, but for those who don't partake of such pleasures:

'On sale dates have been delayed due to quality issues identified by Nike in a small percentage of the shirts that had already been manufactured.

'Therefore a decision was made jointly by Aston Villa and Nike to set new on sale dates for November.

'We appreciate the inconvenience caused by these delays and apologise sincerely to all Aston Villa fans.

'As a gesture of goodwill, please note that there will be free printing of names and numbers with every purchase of a shirt from either of our official stores.'

The club have also decided to keep last seasons prices for the new kit, so prices are as follows:

Adult - £45

Youth - £40

Kiddywinkles - £35

Have never understood the appeal of replica shirts. Always thought they were a rip off. In the past people most people supported their club without wearing a piece of mass produced nylon. Some of the old Villa strips were ace though. The all black one with a red lion from years and years ago must have looked terrific.

Free shirt printing is all well and good but for the fans that have to wait till half way through the season and can't avail of it be charged full price? This is a sham. Very unproffesional

So did Man Utd, Barcelona, Inter, Arsenal, Celtic, Juventus etc (all of which have Nike kits on sale) release sub standard kits? Or do Nike just have a problem with the Villa kit/colours? Not being funny - honest question!
