Thompson On Villa - 'Fantastic Club'

Thompson On Villa - 'Fantastic Club'

Is it true Phil Thompson hates Villa?

Well, it must be because when it was suggested he was on his way to Villa some threw hissy fits all over the place !

However I've just had a text from Vital Villa user HH2 saying he was fantastic on Soccer Saturday about Aston Villa AND our new manager Gerrard Houllier.

In a nutshell the pundit said:

Villa are a fantastic club
Villa are a club he has always admired when a player and as a coach.
One of the six best clubs in English football.
He said Houllier would only take another job in England at a top club which Villa are.
He also said that the football philosophy having worked with him is not defensive at all and above all else he wants to win whoever the opposition.
He thinks the Villa squad is full of promise and is better than Liverpool was when Houllier first went there.

In fact, he was very positive on all fronts.

Happy days... Sorry, just trying to spread the joy, I know this won't suit some who just like to have a good old fashioned moan but for the rest, hopefully happy days!

I wont say i myself and others are wrong for saying thompson slags the club off because i and others have obviously clearly heard him slag us off in the past...He may like us all of a sudden because his friend is at the club but he is still a mug even if he likes us all of a sudden.

OK i,ll buy into it for now but he is hardly likely to say anything derogatory is he.If you can fake sincerity you have got it made.

I can honestly say I have never heard PT slate the Villa on sky for anything other than playing poorly during a game he was covering. I see know other way in which he would blatently come out on sky and just slag us off unless it was being critical of a performance which he was covering and clearly he is paid to do that and give his views on the game. I would like some examples from those that have slated him by suggesting he hates us and is always sticking the knife in....I have not seen it myself. Sure if we were playing Liverpool I wold expect him to be biased towards them, just like McInally is when he covers Villa games
