'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Now For The Villa Fans Backing

Fellow Villans

It pains me to see our club and its fans being dragged through the mud at the news of Gerrard Houllier becoming our new manager. Opposition fans are enjoying our mixed reaction and perhaps the media are making the most of it by warning Houllier of an unwelcomed arrival at B6. I don't think its as big as that is it?

I have had a few thoughts about this and i keep coming back to the same thing.... 'BACK THE CLUB, BACK THE BOARD, BACK THE NEW MANAGER AND BACK THE TEAM'

In doing that, we back ourselves, the fans, the most loyal of fans in the Premier League when one considers what we've been through over the last two decades.

We owe it to ourselves, loyal servants of Aston Villa FC to show the rest of the Premier League that we do believe in the future of our club. Sure, we can disagree, as has been said by the General, but lets all agree we want improvement, ambition, success and that feel-good factor back in our every day support of our football club. Randy Lerner would love nothing more than that.

Our board and management would need all the support from all of the fans right now and it would please them immensely to see the Villa faithful welcome Houllier to VP and hopefully Kevin MacDonald as his number two.

C'mon, lets give it a chance, lets give ourselves a chance and welcome the appointment and take it on as a new beginning. Its high time we went back to Villa Park with excitement and expectation.

Come on The Villa!!

I'm pleased we have a manger - a decent manager at that - and i'm 100% behind him. Lets give him a brilliant reception and prove the media wrong!

what a great appointment, i dont think at his age, gerard houllier is going to want to mess about with clubs that cant deliver, i think this shows randy still has big ambitions for the club...the more i think about it the more i get excited....proud history, BRIGHT FUTURE
