Albrighton Praise For MacDonald

Marc Albrighton has praised Kevin MacDonald for the role he has played in his emergence at B6.

Speaking to the BBC following the England U21 victory over Lithuania, Albie was quick to praise the faith shown in him this season by our caretaker manager.

'I think he's really helped me out over the last two seasons with Villa reserves, he's given me confidence and he's given me that chance in the first team. I'd like to think I've taken it.'

There can be no doubts whatsoever that he's taken the chance, if only he could've converted the chance against Everton his record this season - when you factor in the assists he has grabbed - would look even more phenomenal than it does already.

As well as being pleased with his own progress, Albie is also quick to talk about the talent emerging from the reserves and the fact that any of them are capable of coming into the first team and doing themselves and the club proud.

Pointing to the names we already know such as Bannan, Clark, Weimann etc he adds:

'We've had lots of young players, the reserves over the last couple of years have been absolutely fantastic. We know if you put any of these lads in they will do their job and hold their own.'

The U21 scene now hots up for England and Scotland, as it's not beyong possibility that the two nations could clash following the recent games.

Facing off against Bannan is an interesting prospect for Albie:

'I heard he scored aswell (Bannan) - he's a fantastic player. It'd be brilliant to play against him, but well take whoever comes our way.'

A good night for young international Villans by all accounts!

Played great when he came on in the under 21s .. he's gonna be better than Milner .
