Another Villa Star In The Making?

Three months ago we signed a 16 year old Irish striker by the name of Michael Drennan Click Here, well we've signed many young talents in the past so business as usual right? well maybe not, Drennen played a few games for the Villa u16's and scored a few goals, that was a few months ago, but recently he seems to have enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks having scored a brace for the u18's at the weekend he then made his debut for the Reserves today against Blackpool and reports suggest he was sensational, scoring with a delightful chip and also hitting the bar with another shot,

Of course we've seen our fair share of good youth strikers come through the ranks and not quite make the grade, Luke and Stefan Moore come to mind but it's not often you see a youngster rise through the ranks this quickly, while Delfouneso played for the reserves aged 16 too it took him a little time to adapt, and Gabby was still playing for the u18's at the age of 18, but this kid seems to be taking everything in his stride and if he keeps knocking them in for the reserves then it might not be long before he's involved with the first team squad.

The Kilkenny Advertiser a regular read in the Fear household, says 16 year old Michael Drennan of Loughboy, Kilkenny has just been signed up by soccer giants Aston Villa. Drennan will join the club who made stars out of Peter Crouch and Garth Barry

I'm excited he's Irish! It'll be good for Villa and Ireland to have a quality striker on the books. Let's hope he'll be managed correctly. Certainly Houllier is likely to be better than MON at bringing the likes of Drennan through.

obe, our ex youngsters such as gardner, davis, whits and cahill have all been class. but mon kind of destroys their confidence and oppotunity. im suspecting the same for luke moore too who i thought was excellent till xmas when he had to go for surgery. mon didnt trust his ability after that. and it all went downhill
