Phil Thompson Not Joining Houllier At Villa

Sky Sports News claim (and as he works there, they should know) that Phil Thompson won't be joining Gerard Houllier at Villa.

After some of the comments about him on the forums today, can't say I blame him!

I can never understand why fans think the 'staff' have to be fans as well. They just have to be good at their job?!

Anyway, nothing definite but that is what Sky are saying along with us apparently agreeing a two year deal with Houllier to be announced this week.

Merson, Le Tissier and whiting all make positive and negative remarks about villa. But at least they back up negative remarks with reasoning and often reflect the opinion of many a villa fan. Thompson on the other hand is just a bag full of **** when asked for his opinion on Villa, i also get the feeling that most other pundits don't even like the Ba$tard.

Not really fussed about whether he came or not, I think Houllier will bring in who he feels necessary to move us forward and as long as it does I don't mind if he's from Liverpool, Man Utd or Burton!! Whether KM's involved we'll find out today, but I think I prefer him where he's best, developing the kids.

Glen, VOTH, agreed pals. He is almost as biased against us as Steve McManaman is. I have never seen either of them positive when we have been winning. In fact they looked truly****ed off. Having said that Thommo and the rest of the boys on Soccer Saturday are great comedy value.
