Sid Hails UnCowansly Performance

Sid Hails UnCowansly Performance

See what I did there, uncowardly/uncowansly yeah I need more sleep! Sid Cowans was absolutely thrilled with the performance of the second string yesterday as they battered Blackpool 4-0.

Speaking on the Official Site today Cowans thought the team took their foot off the pedal after taking the very early lead in the game (Collins Jnr 2 mins) but he thought they were sterling in the second half as we banged a further 3 past the Seasiders.

'In the first half we probably dominated the game without really creating too many chances. I thought we were a bit negative in our passing when we could have played forwards.

'It was much better in the second half when we were a lot more positive in our play. It couldn't have gone better for us.'

As we know already, Steve Sidwell made a return to action for the first time since the Valencia friendly (although to be fair maybe you won't until that article actually appears on the frontpage - I've no idea what times it's set for lol), Sid reserved special praise for the former Chelsea man saying that he set a fine example for the younger players.

'I thought Steve's attitude was spot on. He worked up and down, didn't shirk anything and put on a good performance.

'It's great for the kids to see that.'

Well there we go folks, Sid has his first (of many I'm sure) wins under his belt since caretakering the reserves as Kev Mac stepped into first team duties.
