Villa 'Fans' - Change Your Attitude!!

This Thursday Aston Villa FC will announce Gerard Houllier as the new manager of the club.

It also looks as though Phil Thompson is leaving Gillete Soccer Saturday and Jeff and the boys to move to Villa Park as Gerard's No.2 just like he was at Anfield under Houllier.

But the most annoying thing is that before Houllier has even signed his contract, our 'fans' are moaning already!

'Have you seen previous players he has signed though?' 'I have a friend who supports Liverpool and he thinks Gerard Houllier is a bad manager; therefore we are all doomed!' and so on ...

The man is proven in the Premier League! I think that if you look at the comments from the majority of Liverpool fans you will hear what I have heard; he gets his team organised, motivates his players well, has a great scouting system across the world with his contacts and in the words of the majority of Liverpool's fan-base, 'turned Liverpool FC around.'

The man has achieved success everywhere he has ever been! His win percentage is on the same level as Martin O'Neill and more than anything else that impresses me, he wants to come to Aston Villa to prove himself all over again in English football because he feels he has 'unfinished business.'

So just a quick message to all of those 'fans' who keep moaning, unless you have all had actual premonitions and can see in the near future that Aston Villa get relegated because of Gerard Houllier then please shut-up because what good are you doing?

The guy hasn't even walked through the door and some people want him out already!

You're not fans of the Villa at all if your just going to moan and complain about how all of the current candidates aren't (in your opinions) as good as Martin O'Neill. However if you actually look at Gerard Houllier's history, some of you might see that this guy can actually claim to be better than MON and actually have the evidence to back it up in the form of trophies and league titles he's won!

It's a shame some people have to slate our players and future managers from believing stories in the papers or what they here from one of their friends believing it must be true, but I just want to point out that the majority of Aston Villa's fans are still fully behind the club, fully behind Randy Lerner and fully behind Gerard Houllier and (if he is coming to the Villa) Phil Thompson! Gerard Houllier, (for Thursday) welcome to Aston Villa!

GERARD HOULLIER'S CLARET & BLUE ARMY!!! UTV!!

As I have stated I have no issues with Houllier and at 63 he has the potential to bring relatively short term stability to the club. I do object however to the money I invest in the club going anywhere near Thompsons back pocket. As a pundit on Sky Sports he offers his views on the football world and like all people if critisism is fair, then there is no problem. Charlie Nicholas, Le Tissier, Merson, McInally and Stelling are nearly always objective in their views/critisisms. The same can not be said of Thompson. He has continually undermined the Villa, been condescending in his attitude and constantly tried to belittle the club, it's history and potential. I have never booed the club, like many of have invested tens of thousands of £££££'s supporting the club over my lifetime. Again like others I had to release my shares for the Lerner takeover and have sat by as my season tickets have massively increased in price since he came to the club. I never leave a game before the end, I wear and display the colours wherever I may be in the world and will often travel back from my holidays to be at a Villa game. I must confess to only doing 3 or 4 away games a season. Long gone are the days when I travelled all over Europe and never missed an away game, League, friendly, cup or abroad. I am very vocal in my support of the team and rightly or wrongly have shed blood and tears in support of my club, family and friends. I will not give any support to Phil Thompson. I do not want a man who ridicules our club, anywhere near it. He thinks we should have been grateful for finishing 6th!!! I will not be doing anything to jeopardise my season tickets, but will be demonstrating in some form or another against Phil Thompson if he comes anywhere near Villa Park. The thought of that man on the touchlines in Villa colours repulses me. I think it should repulse every Villa fan in the world, but obviously everybody will make their own judgement. If the appointment of GH/PT means we lose Kmac completely then I honestly believe that there should be demonstrations. Hopefully Kmac will go back into his original role. People lacking in intelligence will say things such as 'I bet if we win fings then u wont moan'. To put that one to bed, I will celebrate every Villa win and pray that we can go on and lift silverware. But I will never support Thompson. Ever!

Godd article, good manager, good future. However, we're not able to buy until January and I feel he's got a hole to shore up in midfield if NRC doesn't meet with his approval. Will be interesting to see how he deals with that one.
