Gulp... James Collins Picks Up Injury

Gulp... James Collins Picks Up Injury

Oh damn it.

Looks like James Collins has picked up a nasty injury playing for Wales.

Manager John Toshack was furious that despite an elbow in the face of the Villa defender no action was taken

He told Sky Sports 'The James Collins incident, I would like to have a look at that, because I don't think you get a fractured jaw or a broken nose, or an eye in the condition his is, by falling over on the floor. Something has obviously happened there. He is in a little bit of discomfort and he will have to have some X-rays. Those things don't happen by accident.'

Damn, damn, damn. We got back to our solid selves in defence when he joined Richard Dunne in the centre v Everton. Speedy recovery James.

i had my cheekbone fractured,if its bad he will have an operation this weekend and may be able to play in one of those silly face masks like john terry did,if he doesn`t want to do that he may be out for a few weeks. If it is only a light one he may just be told to let it heal.

Bad blow for James, bad blow for the club. The Richard Dunne/James Collins partnership is arguably one of the best central defensive pairings in the top flight, and particularly at Stoke City, their availability would have been a huge plus. Speedy recovery James. Hope you're back sporting the claret and blue, sooner rather than later.

That's put an end to his Gillette contract and modelling career. Rest easy Beckham, your main rival is out of modelling action for a while.

On a more serious note, get better soon James, you are a rock in our defence. We need our tough guys for Stokes physical forwards.

We are fortunate that we have five centre backs at the club and may well play three of them at Stoke next Monday to combat their aerial bombardment. Dunne, Cuellar, Clarke & Davies, any three will cope.

Not a fracture apparently as first feared. Returning to Villa for medical staff to give him the once over pre Stoke.
