Can someone please tell me how much MON spent and how much the club received from players sold?
PiperUK
Get your calculator out Piper lol
mike_field
2010- 2011 in: Marc Albrighton (feels like we just spend 9m on a young winger)
mattyh1986
haha nice Mattyh!
Zarch
Where do you get 7.5m for Curtis Davis? All the reports i read it was 10m & Harewood was 4m, Warnock was 8m, Petrov 8m......
Reo-Coker is crap
Hasnt everyone spent on *****e? Who's that Halffuid guy?!
leelindsay
depends on which reports you read Reo-Coker is... HATE that username by the way, give me a shout if you want to change it for soemthing more positive! Warnock was £6m + add ons, which probably gets to around £8m I would guess. Petrov, similar, dont' mind updating that. Davies was + add ons as well, I guess now he has played that set amount that might well have kicked in also. All guess/press work though now it is done as undisclosed. Will ammend slightly though.
Pretty sure those signings would come under Randy term NeddyB...
The Fear
NeddyB - incorrect - Petrov was sanctioned by the Bank because randy agreed to Underwrite it before the takeover was fully completed, Dunno about the others - if they were free then yeah Deadly did buy them.
nazvfc
well going on those figures, the 5 year outlay is around 68 million divide that by 5 and that works out at 13 million a season hardly massive amounts eh! sunderland spent that on one player yesterday, considering he paid peanuts for the club in the first place, i'd say he's quids in, count sky sports payments as well, sponsers, etc and the outlay drops quite abit, and when he sells for around 250million, he aint done bad, lets put it this way if he walked now, he certainley wouldn't be out of pocket
eltoro
Yep, £13M a season on average is not that huge. The key seems to be the wages......which is what Randy is trying to get down in preparation for the UEFA legislation to kick in.
villamike
Alright lads. Vital Everton are having another poll so come on over and have your say. We're talking about the "Signing of the Season". No doubt you boys will have some opinions on that :)
Vanilla Ice
and i think if you calc its 58 recouped not 38 you may not of included milner! jeff
eltoro
Gavin McCann lol boy was he crap
sonicdeathmonkey
SchoolBoyError: I did say that in my post that all managers make bad signings, but you can't really quote Ferguson and Mourinho as examples against MON when you consider the finances of Man U and Chelsea compared to Villa - not even close, I'm afraid. They could make as many bad signings as they like but they won't have as much of an impact on their respective teams as they'll just go out and buy somebody else to replace them, an enviable position that we just can't match. As for Moyes, I'll give you Van Der Meyde but I think you might be being a bit harsh with Johnson. Either way, the point wasn't the number of bad signings but the amount of money spent on said players which you'd have to admit was extortionate in more than a few cases...
jeffg_utv
oh my! well i do believe your flirtin with me
eltoro
We have spend a lot of money, although MON can't buy any players in his defense. We need someone who will not waste money on ridicules players and a large sum

MoN should have been sacked the day he suggested paying more than a pound for harewood.
