Big Mac Wants Villa Job? Or...?

Sky Sports News are reporting that Kevin MacDonald has confirmed he would like to be considered for the vacant manager role at Villa.

Then again, the quotes are after the Everton game, the interview I heard had him saying he would go away, calm down and then assess and let the board know this week.

The quotes from sky:

'Who says I will be chosen? Whoever gets interviewed, if they come up with the right solution on how to take the club forward, that would be the right person for the job.'

'It would help me being in the position. That would put me in a more favourable position than people who come in from the outside. But you then are going to look at people to be interviewed who have got a lot more experience, have won things and have done it at the highest level as well.'

So, would you like Big Mac to get the job permanently or do you think we need to 'aim higher'? Our latest poll asks the very same!

The statement from the board the other day seems to suggest he won't be in the running?

o and yes he has his three game Premier experience ;-) and there is no guarantees whoever comes in that they will do a great job unless we get one of the top managers and they are under contract and big clubs.

astvill they havn't faulkner and lerner made it clear yet that they are after managers with premier league experience? Koemen has no experience so he is out, Hiddinks name has not even been mentioned in the press. Sven is probably bein interviewed because as far as experience goes he is the pick of the bunch. But if they appoint KMac arn't they going back on what they have said? He hasn't exactly got expiernce, 3 premier league games you cant exactly say is, Nothing against the man just would want a safer option, cant hide the fact we lost 6-0 to a newly promoted team and out of europe again. I wouldnt moan if he was appointed just would prefer someone like Moyes, Hughes, Mcleish or Jol.

I think KM's pretty much got this sown up. The players want him, he's considerably cheaper than everyone else and he hardly seems the personality to rock the boat by chucking his toys out. On the down side though, he's limited on experience, has he got the pull to bring in the players we need to take us forward and are we just settling for an easy option.....only time will tell

All great managers have to start somewhere so maybe he can be our David Moyes. Yes it will be a learning curve as we go and mistakes will be made but long term it could reap big rewards. I still feel we are in a no lose situation to give him this season to show what he can do and hopefully he can install the winning mentality he had with the reserves into the first team players. It will take time but it will take time who ever we have as a managers. There is no quick fix.
