Unoial Villa News...
Right then, manager talk...! Been a lack of it and I think the press and bookies keep jumping on the wrong boat. For instance, I have said that if Bob Bradley becomes our boss I'll walk around Villa Park wearing just a strategically placed sock on to save some semblance of dignity! My blushes are very much not in danger in my ever so humble opinion. Then we have Big Mac. Lets face it, he has talked his way out of the job BUT has done what has been asked of him to hold the fort whilst we attract a manager (and again, timing to get one in isn't easy right now...etc) So anyway, today's gossip surrounds... actually, it isn't gossip this time, it is quotes from Dutch legend Ronald Koeman who once again has said he would love the job and could bring back the glory days to Villa Park. Pretty sure in this article, Kevin MacDonald is sort of hinting that Villa are looking over and above his level for the next manager? Full article: Big Mac Sure Villa Have Loads Interested In Job
Well, I sort of had a major ramble on the current situation and especially on the owner and CEO of the club who I think have started to take some unfair slack... Have a look and see what you think! A Repost To Randy Lerner/Paul Faulkner Criticism
Slightly un-related, just ate a bit of chicken and now feel sick... hmmm, not nice. I'll keep you updated! :O)
Matthew Kendrick at The Birmingham Mail has had an interesting chat with Villa caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald. Which is nice.... (did anyone watch the Fast Show by the way?!?) Big Mac says the board are working hard at the managerial situation and on the owner says he has been in a lot of contact with Randy and Paul Faulkner. 'He`s been very supportive of what`s gone on. They have obviously been to watch the team play. You`ve got to remember it`s difficult for myself and Mr Lerner. We are short staffed and there`s everything going on that we are trying to sort out. A lot of people would say that the club has been put on hold, but Paul has been doing things behind the scenes. Whether he`s tried to get players in or players out, he`s had recommendations from one or two of us. Whether we can do any deals I don`t know - there`s nothing on the horizon.' He also acknowledges that he'd be surprised if teams weren't interested in Ashley Young following the recent Spurs links. Full article + Ash quotes: Big Mac On Transfers + Ashley Young

mauvaisgarcon has had his say... in two parts... but hey, I've merged them... boo me! Enough knee jerk reaction please!!! Part 1 of 2 This is, potentially, my first & last article. You see I've never actually written one before. I've read plenty and made the odd comment but how do I know if I'm actually good enough to be published? In the big time. On Vital Aston Villa no less! I believe I've got the required skills. Can discuss topics sensibly and often see things others miss (except spelling & punctuation of course). I'm calm under pressure, understand the concepts and have plenty of experience using these skills in a similar way. But having never done it... How do I know? Can you see where I'm going with this? ThorpyUK: What do we have to do to realise 4-5-1 works for Villa? Oh dear…. Another poor performance we all cry. Actually, I thought we were average last night (which should be enough to see off the likes of rapid Vienna), but were let down by a couple of individual standout performances. I say standout because they stood out as being very very poor in relation to the team. I'll not dwell too long on last nights game though because this topic is to bang the drum again that almost every sane villa fan has been saying for the last couple of seasons: we need 4-5-1. astvil123: To start just a warning to Aston Villa, I remember reading the General saying he was disappointed with the ticket demand from the fans for the West Ham, Vienna and Everton home ties; well after listening to the Villa fans on the phone in on the way home the crowd will be much smaller than what we saw tonight with Villa fans stating they will boycott the Everton game in protest and until Randy Lerner and co sort out the manager situation with an experienced big name to suit this big club then they will not be coming back to Villa Park. Regarding tonight's match, what a shocking performance! Has Big Mac Had His Chips?
Thought for the day: In the 1400's a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have 'the rule of thumb'
