Big Mac Sure Villa Have Loads Interested In Job

Pretty sure in this article, Kevin MacDonald is sort of hinting that Villa are looking over and above his level for the next manager?

Matthew Kendrick at The Birmingham Mail spoke with Big Mac who laughed at the suggestion that Maradona was interested saying it wouldn't be his choice!

However, much like Ronald Koeman said Villa has got a big name:

'I think Aston Villa is regarded as a major club, as any Premier League club is. There will be lots of applications because everyone will think they can push this club back up to the top. Whether it is one of the applicants or someone already in a job, the players` own pride should tell them to play as well as possible because any manager who comes in will know what has gone on.'

We'll soon find out, the next week or so will be crucial to Villa and I'm sure we are all hoping and praying the right man comes in. Be nice if we could all unite as fans again - for a short while at least!

Why would a manager want to come in to work with the squad we have? Obviously not gonna get anyone in before transfer window so now new signins = poor season, Not bein negative being a realist.

P.Avfc, qre you the guy who sits in front of me in the Doug Ellis...moaning all game..?lol. Cant say it will be a poor season, this squad got us 6th place last year, lost milner but gained ireland and albrighton feels like a new signing too.

i agree P.avfc, alot of people on this site feel MON has ruined our season, but the board have done noyhing to rectify this, MON left over 3 weeks ago!

I see your point, but as ive said before i think we have a strong enough side to last till january, and if i was Lerner i would wanna make sure i make the right appointment. Its so early in the season. After 2 games last year we were on this amount of points and out of Europe. No different in that way, just behind the scenes. Which will get sorted next week im certain. Id rather take our time in finding the right manager for us than to make a knee jerk reaction just to get some1 in the hot seat. The new manager might well be happy with the squad and not want to add just yet. We have to play the waiting game.

ok jp maybe the wrong phrase, not doing anything at all might be a tad wrong, but we as a club always seem to move at a snails pace, i just can't see another top six side who would take over 3 weeks to get a good manager in place, it's already cost us europe, any longer and the season will begone, if we lose tomorow and the board don't have someone in place by the game after, they will be to blame!

p.s we can only go on so long blaming every result on MON's departure.

JsyVilla was just down william hill and they wasn't putting bets on for who to be the next villa manager either.
