Whisper It... Ashley Young Outward Rumour :(

Whisper It... Ashley Young Outward Rumour :(

Things can't get any worse for Villa can they?

Well....

James Nursey at The Mirror believes that Spurs are set to move for Ashley Young now they are in the Champions League.

Even worse... adding to rumbles doing the rounds recently... it is thought that the player wants a return to London and might actually ask to leave.

The report says the player is rated at around £25million and an official approach is expected.

Remember not that long back Harry Redknapp said the rumour was a non started as the player wasn't for sale? Said he was the sort of player he would like but he isn't for sale so that is that?

The only problem is if the player asks to leave, we all know that players have the power these days, just look at the Barry and Milner situations. Ouch, the last month has been a painful one, lets hope this isn't on.

Redknapp on Sky Sports today:

'There is nothing close to being done, not that I know of. We are nowhere near doing a deal for anybody. I'm not that bothered to be honest. We had a couple of targets at the start, and we got one of them, but we have a good squad and we will crack on. If we don't find somebody that we feel will make a difference, we will go with what we've got.'

Time will tell.

Spurs boss happy with current squad:

i have a sneaky feeling MON knew what was coming, barry sold milner sold ash sold, equals a very average mid table team at best, if we're honest i think a manager with funds would be in place by now, i think randys had enough of spending, maybe just maybe MON jumped from a sinking ship!

What are you worried about? He said he wanted to sign a new deal the other week? No deal that big will be done before the end of the deadline. Rubbish.

The only way to stop all the speculation is to appoint a new manager. Until there is someone in post the uncertainty surrounding your star players will not stop. Losing Young would be a major blow to the Villa although I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that. WTF do you want all those Spurs cast-offs for anyway?

eltoro - relax. None of that speculation is true. This no spending story has got out of hand because The Big Ego couldn't hack being given direction and once he went we have had no-one to guide the spending. I'm getting a bit fed up of all this negative interpretation. Lerner is the best thing to happen to AVFC for many years. He was let down - now lets move on.

Young in my opinion is better than lennon but we are okay because i can assure you all redknapp would be crazy to spend that money on young, He wont get ahead of modric in the free role or bale on the left, He wont get in that team unless bale goes lb which is stupid as he has proved he is a quality lw. I agree again with fifthcollumnblue!! we need a manager fast and the speculation might go away, I wouldnt want jenas, bentley or keane as there just players like sidwell and reo, just cloggin up the wage budget.
