Glensider: No matter what the reasoning, and despite whatever provocation confronted him, O'Neill's untimely and selfish act in waking out on the club in the manner that he did, has left us in complete and utter disarray. The events of the summer have done very little I would imagine, to convince the likes of Ashley Young, that his long term future should he here at Brummagem B6. Far from it. Here we are, just a handful of days away from the closure of the transfer window, with virtually no hope of us adding to a clearly inadequate first team squad, and probably even more importantly, we have no confirmed full-time manager at the helm. Fieldy: Gabby Agbonlahor has said he is more than willing to take over penalty duties at the club following John Carew's horrific miss against Newcastle last weekend. The subject of penalties and the player to take them has been quite a hot topic over the last few seasons with Barry, Milner, Ashley, Carew all stumbling at points, and since Carew reminded us last weekend of the joys of Waddle and Pearce the topic is up for debate again on the forum. Throwing his hat firmly in the ring, Gabby has said he'd love the chance to take the pens in future and if presented with the chance tonight, he'll punish Rapid from the spot. Well, the manager talk centres mostly on Kevin MacDonald. Oh, before that... the rumour that a major new manager is set to be announced... this following a so called ITK and being linked in Robbo's blog... and that three players are coming in with him is total and utter junk. These in the knows really should get their facts straight before winding up fans and getting people excited! Reports suggest that Randy Lerner and the players are keen on Big Mac.... Big Mac isn't convinced though? Full article: LOL.. Manager NOT About To Be Announced + Big Mac

Fieldy (losing the plot perhaps?!?!) ... The dramatic story of two debuts in the Europa League, coming soon to a cinema near you. Our opening leg of the Europa League Qualifier against Rapid Vienna was interesting for more than one reason, but here I shall talk of only two of them. Eric Lichaj and Jonathan Hogg. Popcorn and Pride...Debut Days For Young Villans

Fieldy: Ashley Young is desperate to erase the nightmares of last seasons aggregate loss to Rapid Vienna, and help see Villa through comfortably this time round. Speaking about his memories of 12 months ago on the Official Site certain events within the match still stick in his throat. Drawing 2-2 on aggregate leaving Villa to go out on the away goals count left a sour taste in the mouth for those in the squad, but Ashley especially as he won two first half penalties but saw his own saved. Fieldy: A host of players have again been called up to represent their countries during the fortnight International break following our clash with Everton. Full article: International Villans Again

Gabby Agbonlahor is back in contention for the home leg of the Europa qualifier against Rapid Vienna tomorrow. Having faced a few weeks on the sidelines and had hardly any pre season preparation, Gabby came through 45 minutes in a behind closed doors friendly against Burton Albion earlier this week, found the net and has trained himself into Kevin MacDonald's plans. Thought for the day: I bought one of those anti-bullying wristbands when they first came out. I say 'bought' I actually stole it off a short ginger kid.
