Unoial Villa News...
Whoops, sorry, been so short of time I haven't updated recently in a Villa Times.
What a strange time, from the joys of West Ham to the doom of Newcastle.
Just a reminder. Sir Graham Of Taylor was on Midlands Today last night. He's well into his training, he was reminded that he'd fallen off his bike 14 times during his training and laughed saying 'that is what all top international cyclists do'...! He also spoke on Villa and said he hoped they'd get someone with experience in... but the point of this article isn't to discuss Villa but to get some donations. Easiest way is to text 70222 with 'grahamtaylor' (lower case) or as below, go to the just giving site. Full article:
London To Paris - Sir Graham Of Taylor...
Really can't believe this transfer window and the lack of action, for most teams it has to be said. There isn't even any really good gossip to keep us going and that includes gossip relating to a new manager. I thought the press would be full of who in etc but evidently not!

Mike Field: Man mountain Martin Laursen would like nothing more on Thursday than to see the crowd in as finer voice as it was against Ajax a few seasons ago. Speaking on the Official Site as we attempt to put Sundays result behind us and gatecrash the group stages of the Europa League, Laursen has called on the fans to help scream us through. 'The Ajax game was so special , it was a magical European night for Villa.' Laursen scored the opening goal that night and captained us to victory, but despite his joy and I remember him saying at the time, the first proper thoughts about the win were for the fans. Vital Villa member HeathfieldRoad1874 pointed out the new regulations coming into force in a forum thread: UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations and said: I apologise if I keep banging on about this, but it is probably the single most important event since the Premier League was started. Following a discussion on another thread, I thought it might be useful to have somewhere to discuss it properly. Basically, I've identified the important aspects from the 85 page document issued by UEFA.

General Krulak has spoken in his thread in 100% Villa. That all that can be done is being done to bring in a new manager. 'With all due respect, let's review the bidding. Our manager walked out with 5 days before the beginning of the season. Randy had spoken to him on Saturday and flew back to the US thinking things were fine. On Monday, the manager quit. That same day Randy started his trip back to the UK. He arrived, appointed KM as interim manager, finalized the Milner/Ireland deal and started getting with advisors re. a manager.' 'He certainly wasn't sitting on his duff.' Full article: General Krulak On Tough Timing To Find New Manager
Wow, man of the match v West Ham at Villa Park was a close run thing. What I love about Mike Field as well, who does the match day polls for me whilst I'm at the game, is that he has no bias at all. Full article: Man Of The Match v West Ham - Runaway Result!
YatesyVillain asks if it is time for a song? With a new season we have a new broom and it's swept away a lot of frustration in the Villa camp. The atmosphere at VP came across as electric on Saturday, with a free-flowing, attacking performance to-boot! With a few new faces around both on and off the pitch, I wonder is it time to freshen up some of the songs we hear week in, week out at VP? I was pondering this in the afterglow of the game against West Ham, and had a couple of ideas (together, it must be said, with slightly more than a couple of beers!). Despite having a season ticket in my youth for 12+ years, I'm now stuck in Singapore as an armchair fan, albeit one that regularly gets up at 3am to watch evening games involving the mighty boys in C&B!
