Villa Transfer Links & Manager Talk

Villa Transfer Links & Manager Talk

Really can't believe this transfer window and the lack of action, for most teams it has to be said. There isn't even any really good gossip to keep us going and that includes gossip relating to a new manager. I thought the press would be full of who in etc but evidently not!

Only bits manager wise doing the rounds at the moment are a few articles saying that Kevin MacDonald needs to decide quickly if he wants to be considered for the job and doubts remain because he doesn't seem to be sure himself. The Guardian, amongst others, say that MacDonald is still favourite for the job.

The London Evening Standard claim that West Ham are after Luke Young. He's been linked to the Hammers before along with:

Luke Young wanting to go back to London.

Another to West Ham, this time for £4million Click Here
Luke Young to Sunderland for £3million: Click Here
Luke Young to Liverpool for £2.5m Click Here

No thanks, would rather keep him!

Vital Hull have picked up on their link to Habib Beye:

Still think we will sign Keane. Shay Given on loan would be nice too.

It's been a disappointing Summer tbh, never thought it'd be this poor. I know we used to leave it late to get some players in but at least we'd enjoy the rumour and excitement of who it might be. Right now I'd just settle for getting the Management position filled, it's starting to drag on a little and I think once that's done we'll see a more settled squad. I agree Villainofwales, I think we have enough in defence and midfield to cope, although a defensive midfielder wouldn't be a bad shout, it's where the goals are coming from that worries me. Heskey just isn't capable these days of hitting the net, Carew is hit and miss and Gabby always starts well then falls away, as for Delfonso whilst I think he'll be solid enough eventually I don't think he's the answer. Question is who is?

Jimmy is a fine player BUT he is not the be all and end all. He brings balance to Citeh's midfield but his removal from us has left our midfield, at least on Sunday, as very unbalanced. 6 footballers and no-one who can get stuck in. We need some energy/drive and a leader in CM. I would start with NRC every time unless we get somebody in before the window closes.

I hope we don't sign that mercenary Keane... I'm still drunk from the night before so Jol bringing Suarez still seems logical!!!!
