Will Someone At Villa Please Tell Us...

Will someone please tell us....

OK we have had one win, one draw and one defeat - on that basis things are pretty even.

We have seen a manager spit out his dummy and walk away.

We get daily rumours of what may or may not happen.

We have a caretaker manager who seems to be a thoroughly decent man and is held by those who know him to be a good coach, refusing to commit himself to the possible job at hand.

The only thing we haven't had, me thinks, is a statement from the board telling us what the outline masterplan is. Not the detail, that would be ridiculous, but the outline. What is the timetable for an appointment and what is the policy for transfers during the remainder of this window.

I know Randy likes to keep quiet but we also have a Chief Executive - is it too much to ask that they inform their customers - we supporters - of what is going on?

Without a statement and/ or some positive action in the next few days it seems to me that there will be unnecessary criticism and cynicism.

I think we deserve to know a little more than we do now.

Voice, I accept everything you say, you're bang on, but i've just got this horrible feeling he's going to have to spend absolutely massively just to get us around 6th again when one last push might have cracked it. Randy surely must of seen everything we do over the last few seasons and it's obvious all we needed was a striker who knows where the net is and actually moves, unlike carew and heskey. Surely he could of said to martin you've got one more big blast in the market and if you balls it up that's it. I understand all the issue with wages etc but we were that close it hurts. Look, randy is the best thing to happen to villa but i think the the latest turn of events is going to cost him more money in the long run and take a while to rectify.

Voice: MON would not allow it? Do you know that for certain? It ties in with other stories I have heard but I had not actually heard that before. I wonder how many of us can spend a company's money with no control?

I think that if k-mac proves to be good tactically then we dont need to worry about a new striker till january. Its not the ideal situation, but i think we could hold on until then. We need Gabby back quickly. Its mad to think, he, collins, davies, cuellar and sidwell are all injured. Thats 3 of our starting 11 last season.

Biggest mistake apart from not playing the squad, was not buying Darren bent when we had the chance. The money was there but MON was too arrogant to spend it, hey ho. Not sure about bradley at all but agree that new ideas are needed.

Have to agree with the coment above. Randy does not have to tell us anything, he owns the club, he can do what he likes with it. What is more pressing is we do need to appoint a world class manager and pretty quick. If Kmd admitted he picked the wrong team yesterday, instead of just looking at it, he should have done something about it during the first half and have the courage to do so. redknapp would have done and so would have mourhino, instead he sat there looking at it the way MON used to. Accept it change it and get on with it! On that basis he failed to be strong, Kmd is out of the running because it showed lack of judgement because he lacks the knowledge and skills of being at the forefront of the top job. On this basis Bob Bradley should be ruled out too. So therefore Mr Lerner ought to get the compensation check book out and go get a manager from another club who has the pedigree of being at the sharp end. Someone who can manage the egos and purchase at least three players capable of gelling it all together again, who can roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. IMO bellamy would have done us a job for now- even if he upset a few to start with- he gets stuck in- as a replacement for gabby or as a lone striker with more pace than carew and the ability to score a few. Also adebayor would be worth pursuing assuming he was available or someone of that ilk- not easy to find granted but you gotta pay for these guys or do it on the cheap at your peril. Parachute payments will be no good for our club!! Once we conceeded the three, we looked bereft of ideas, there was no passion, agression or pride to stop them scoring again, it was a little bit embarrassing. Considering we shifted so many against chelsea i would have thought they back four would have rolled there sleeves up and shut up shop, i note that LY was part of that defence that day so maybe he aint as good as we think he is and MON was right all along, suddenly cuellar and collins look world beaters. Further more why heskey?, why bring on a guy who dont score, if Kmd gives the other youngsters a shot at it, why not the fonz?

^ If only you really were Lerner :) ... It's not difficult is it.. Pellegrni, Hitzfeld, Paul Lambert, Billic, Rijkaard etc etc .. any of those guys would love the job, so what's the ruddy hold up!?

sorry had to say this about Kmd and Bob Bradley, remember Graham Turner, Billy Mcneil,Jo Venglos, and Tony Barton to some degree (post euro cup) they all lacked that something to make it all work and manage this great club. Looking at those employed at present only three to my mind are capable Big sam (not my favourite) but maybe he may do a job for a while, sparky(but would fulham let him go now and dare i say it the carrot top across the city, we need a strong character make no bones about it. Look at martinez at wigan too lightweight, did ok lower down the divisions but not for the big time, not just yet

I think the idea of bringing in new players without a manager is very bad one young grasshopper.
