Newcastle Injury Update

Villa will be without the usual suspects for Sunday's match against Newcastle United.

Gabby Agbonlahor is still struggling with his hamstring problem, James Collins hasn't yet shaken his calf problem and Carlos Cuellar is also still suffering with his hamstring. Steve Sidwell has also failed to recover in time following his achilles issue.

Added to the list is Andy Weimann following his ankle injury in last nights Rapid Vienna match.

Speaking on the Official Site Kevin MacDonald said:

'Andy will not be available for a while now and the scan will tell us more. James, Carlos and Gabby are hoping to play in some kind of game early next week but they won't be available for this week.

'The only other one is Steve, with an achilles tendon injury.'

In better news though the hobbling Ashley Young and the rumoured knee of John Carew are fine, and Big Mac has everybody else back which I presume includes Richard Dunne and Luke Young to pick from.

With regards to Stephen Ireland, Mac added:

'Stephen is obviously going to be involved - whether he starts I can't tell you that.'

Hopefully Gabby will recover soon. Would be great to see the Fonz get a chance in the meantime maybe?!
The Fear
Yeah...give the Fonz a decent amount of time! Gutted about Weimann, hope it's not serious. And i'm looking forward to seeing Ireland
Callum_ws
stick with our winning 4-5-1, same team as west ham except ireland straight in for milner plz! come on you villans
goodb_2
I would stick 4-4-1-1 however, perhaps my unpopular decision would be to rest Allbrighton. I think we will really miss the workrate and tackling back of Milner and therefore away from home I would like to see nrc paired with Stan in the middle. Ireland is at his best playing behind the front man, and Ashley can obviously move wide, I think those two and DJ could all mix and match and prove a real handfull.

I do think we should go 451, But away from home i reckon like krfeeskivilla said reo and petrov in the middle with albrighton and young on the wings and ireland playing off the striker. And when at home revert to Young in the free role position and ireland slotting in reo-cokers.

Sounds good to me kffeskivilla, better get on the phone to Kevin!
