'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Barry: 'Bannan On The Door Of The First Team' Two

I liked this pathetic pun so much I'm using it again given the wee Bannan's last 7 days!

Following his Premiership debut against Wet Spam a few short days ago, Bannan secured his title as one for the future with a good performance and an all important away goal in last nights 1st leg Europa League qualifier against Rapid Vienna.

The wee 20 year old's week couldn't be much better according to him as he spoke to the Official Site.

'It felt brilliant. It's hard to describe but it was the best feeling I've had in football so far.'

Bannan has already opened his professional scoring count whilst onloan at Derby and Blackpool, but he says that this one was special because:

'This is where I want to be and want to be playing. To do it here in a competitive Europa League game is brilliant.'

Bannan admits it was definitely a case of knowing your team mate when he saw Albrighton angling into the box having sent the Vienna left back towards the corner flag on his backside.

'Over the years I have seen Marc do that plenty of times so I knew what kind of cross was coming in. I thought I am just going to gamble and I couldn't miss really.'

Onwards and upwards for the youth!

I look forward to Bannan getting some decent playing time this year and getting better and better. The boy's unquestionably got some talent.
Albarnista
Too small?? Not saying he is just that that would be my main concern having seen him play to date.
