Stephen Ireland In - James Milner Out - Official

The Manchester City official site have confirmed that James Milner is now a Citeh player and Stephen Ireland has joined Aston Villa.

Welcome on board Stephen, you've joined a hell-of-a great club.

Our official site have added confirmation and quote Kevin MacDonald as saying this is a 'great' signing for Villa.

"Stephen is an outstanding young talent who will complement the talented players we already have here and we're looking forward very much to working with him."

Cool!

Thank god its finally over! We concentrate on football now thank god! And a note to all Villa fans, after Milner played out of his skin for us against the Hammers, all Villa fans should cheer when his name is read out on Man City's bench; its only fair!

Ireland needs an intelligent fwd player to be making sharp runs in the box, we dont have this at the moment.

mattyh1986, Of course we don't, MON has been our manager for the last 4 years, but things may change soon

Gutted to see Milner leave and have mixed feelings about Ireland. If we get him playing to his best we wont even miss Jimmy but a lot depends on our new manager. Ireland could be problematic, cant argue he's a great footballer but we need the right manager to get the best out of him. Bradley, Erikson, Koeman, none of these names are fit to manage our great club. Jol wouldn't be bad but would love to see Moyes

That being said we definitely got the better end of the deal. In terms of ability Milly and Ireland are fairly evenly matched. and we got a shed load of money in addition to Ireland :)
