Ronald Koeman Wants In! Manager Talk

And onto manager talk! Seems a growing clamour for Kevin MacDonald as boss, 80% voted in our last poll. However, would that change if the results start to turn?

Anyway, the gossip today surrounds Dutch 'legend' Ronald Koeman.

The Daily Mail has the Dutchman confirming his interest.

'I'm interested in the position of manager from Villa. I know that I'm on their list. I don't know how many more candidates are on that list. But I haven't had contact yet with Villa.'

Koeman has managed Valencia, Benfica, and PSV. He has been out of work since being fired from AZ Alkmaar last year.

In the NOS he said: 'I don't know how many more candidates are on that list. But I haven't had contact yet with Villa.'

not sure, hate the ******** but has a decent record, but why sacked from a small club like AZ?
d8ost
why do you hate him d8ost? Not a loaded question, I have no real opinion on the guy so just interested.
The Fear
He's completely failed everywhere apart from Benfica who he left as soon as a better offer came along. No ta!

Hey JF, just memories of the Dutch against England in some tournament 15 years ago, i think he dived, scored the resulting freekick and knocked us out of a tourne. I dont hold grudges... :) But the same reason i dont want maradonna, apart from being a drug lord etc, hes probably in the top 5 most hated footballers in the UK
d8ost
Same not excited, but he is dutch? That means good football and not the boring Hoof Hoof Stuff.

No no no, please no. He has been a failure at more than one club and no wonder he is interested as no one in there right mind would be interested in him. Most managers linked with us have been a failure at some point so I would prefer to give Macdonald a good crack at the job as he looks like he has the all round package to do better than all these so called bigger named managers. Its not worth spending million on getting a named manager unless they are proven at all levels and have never failed. Kmac all day long for me and I'm sure most will realise what a gem we have after we win our next two games. Some fans play down the Westham performance/result saying that Westham are rubbish, well if they are we didn't manage to beat them last season and we didn't get past Rapid in Europe either. Lets watch the difference tomorrow night!

kaizersoze i get the worst farts ever off those hotdogs..with Randy being American & his connections i'm sure he can wangle something & as for heskey get him serving at the canteen! BigKevMac for manager.. not ronald mcdonald cowman.

not inspiring is it the fact we seem to be scraping the unemployed barrell. I would prefer to see big mac as no2 to whoever we bring in. only due to his lack of experience outside the club if you look at the level we are competing but would still provide the continuity required to ease the smooth transition of a new manager due to his internal knowledge. i know i will get heckled for saying this but of the supposed candidates for the job, i would prefer bob bradley or klinsmann. i think sven is too old and wouldnt stick around for the long term, koeman comes with a lot of bad press not to mention the world cup qualifier that hasd already been well documented, gutted about martin jol saying no but if he was to leave ajax due to a transfer policy disagreement, why would he come to a club that has lost its manager for exactly the same reason. bob bradley could be a refreshing change and klinsmann is the reason behind germanys young success. but for the time being big mac seems more than capable in the short term. i hear a rumour that mancini might be looking for a job by november thoughts???

Give KMac the job and bring in Big Ron or Terry Venables to help him as his no2 or director of football if everyone is so concerned about his lack of experience.
AVbornandbred
Big Mac for me as well. Can't see why everyone's so against Sven though. I thought it looked like he was doing alright at City before them fellas came in. He bought them a few decent players for reasonably small amounts of money. The players and fans were sad to see him go. Think as a club coach he could be quite decent
