Milner Deal Done - Ireland To Villa

Milner Deal Done - Ireland To Villa

Not on the official site yet, but had three texts from 'sources' all of whom are saying the same thing.

James Milner has gone and we have Stephen Ireland + cash.

UNTIL it is on the official site, I'd still take this as a rumour, not a fact. Thing is, these sources are seldom wrong.

We'll update if and when the official site lets us know the deal is done and dusted.

Update. Now on Sky Sports News...

Looks like a done deal to me.

Relieved this is finally all over, now everyone can concentrate on the football. Ireland leaves with the best wishes of 99% of City fans, and if you can get him back to the form of 2 season ago you've got a star. Nice to see him go to a club like Villa, with aspirations similar to ours.

No no no no no. :( Gutted. I like Ireland and i think Villa have got a really good deal, but still gutted. All the best to James Milner though. I think the money will go towards new players, now it's not MON wanting to waste almost 10m on another average Celtic player!

This has taken far too long to complete. Villa should have threatened Man City with reporting them for unsettling milner, and give them a much earlier deadline to get him. The season has started and we are getting a new player that will have great expectations on his shoulders with no pre-season with us.

If Ireland has a good season then Man $ity will buy him next summer for £25m, so that'll make this Milner deal worth around £45m!!
