Time For New Villa Songs?

I hate to say it but I've felt for some time that villa fans only sing when they're winning. What I'd love to see at VP is a nucleus of devoted fans in the centre of holte who can keep the crowd going even when things aren't going too well on the pitch. I'll tell you what really angers me... so called "fans" who boo down our own team when things aren't going the way they like. I remember 2 seasons ago when villa looked to be heading for a champions league spot, way out infront of arsenal, having played many great and hard won games - the best season we had had for over a decade. I'm sure most of you remember the start of our downfall that season was when we were beating Stoke 2-0 and they clawed their way back into the game to snatch a draw. It was upsetting, yes, but I couldn't believe that those players, who had given so much to Villa that season, were booed off the pitch at the end of that game. I truly think that the crowds reaction that day played a crucial part in the woeful performance our players displayed from then on. I know I was disgusted by the crowd so I can only imagine what the players must have felt. I also have had a feeling that our somewhat fickle home crowd could be partly responsible for our below par home record of late. Or is that going too far? I know it can be a frustrating life being a Villa fan and we can all get carried away expecting too much from the team but at the end of the day we are called "supporters" for a reason. We are there to support the team, not to put them down when we feel they have under achieved. Anyway, back to songs. I remember going to see Chelsea play at VP back when Mourhino was in charge and, even though we weren't winning, the crowd never stopped chanting for the whole 90 minutes. I really felt that the crowd had made the team dig deap to pull off the 1-1 result (and it was a result against that chelsea team). I just wish that we could support our team like that week in, week out. As I said before, It would be great if someone could organise a set up where a die hard core of fans could be seated together to get songs started and keep the crowd positive even when things look grim (especially to shout down the fools who start booing at the first sign of trouble - you know who you are and you should feel ashamed). Does that sound beyond the realms of possibility? O.k. rant over. In reponse to the original thread, I really like the Albrighton song and can imagine it catching on quickly. The old macdonald song may need some work though lol. Oh and flyers are a great idea.

Fear, where are we on this? There looked like a head of steam getting up towards the end of last season, with support from within the club, only for it to go quiet again. What needs to be done to get this back on the agenda?

Marc Alrbighton's song should definitely, surely, be to the tune of Lionel Richie's All Night Long!?!? I'll let someone else come up with words for the "siesta.. forever.." bit though.

Will see what the guys at the club say voiceoftheholte, only so many times i can pester for help though and it started to get complicated with so many people coming up with so many versions.

Wish we had some ringleaders in the centre of the holte to get songs going, all seems really lazy these days, even the on the p/.ss my lord is only sparodic at best. And the amount of sh** on the city is untrue. Sod them unless we are playing them.
