Milner In Wet Spam Contention

Kevin MacDonald has stated that whilst James Milner remains a Villa player he will be in contention for a first team spot.

Speaking on the Official Site ahead of our season opening clash against West Ham, Kevin MacDonald has called James Milner one of the fittest professionals he has ever met, and that he will be more than strong enough mentally to put up with the crowd's reaction if called upon to play in the game.

'James is in the squad, the latest is that there are still talks ongoing. James is available to play.'

MacDonald hopes the crowd will get behind the team and the player should he play, and added:

'I hope that they get behind him and say - whatever happens - he is playing for us today and see what he has done for us over the past couple of years.'

As for Milner himself, MacDonald would also be delighted to see him stay at the club:

'I would love James to be playing for Villa for a few years. I think he is a very talented player. He would only make our team better if he was to stay.'

In injury news ahead of the game, Villa will be without Gabby, Davies, Cuellar and Collins.

Dont get this at all, There shouldnt even be a debate on the situation. While he is an 'Aston Villa' Player we will tell him what he can and cant do end of story. So dont no why mcdonald has to bother even sayin it, he is a villa player therefore he will play for our club wheneva we say he will.
