Sven Throws His Hat Into The Ring?

It didn't take long before Eriksson's representative got talking about the Villa job.

Sven has a history with Villa. He got caught up in the News Of The World's fake sheik sting when he claimed he would have no problem in leaving the England job to manage Villa, and would bring David Beckham with him.

He was also linked with the Villa job during the uncertain period when we didn't have a clue who'd be managing, or owning us, four years ago.

So this is a bit of an obvious link, really. But Athole Still - Sven's representative - has told PA Sport:

'Of course, Sven would be interested in this job.

'He has always said that he would like to go back into the Premier League. It is a big target for him.'

There we go then. First one to consider.

Should Sven become O'Neill's replacement, I'm sure John Carew would be able to show a few places that the controversial Swede would enjoy!

Sven seems to be interested in any job in the PL... but Villa could do better! I think Martin Jol would work well.

svens club record is good, and looking back now i think he did well with england aswell, pentalty kicks away from two semi finals.Plus he is a player and a ladies man,get him in i say at least he doesn`t have a massive ego like o`neill,he works with people.

Talks have already taken place between Lerner and his close friend and former Germany manager Klinsmann. Martin heard whispers over the weekend, and pushed Lerner on the issue during talks, It is understood that this followed revelations that O'Neill put feelers out regards the Liverpool vacancy. Lerner and his chief executive had spoken over the last few days regards the situation, A two and a half year contract was put forward to O'Neill who refused to commit in the long term forcing Lerner into this situation. Kind of makes a lot of sense, if this was the case then i can fully understand the outcome of yesterday..

Sven....please dont.

Sven? Get him in!

I think Jol is the man, I'm not sure if we can get him though. Hiddink would be the dream but it isn't going to happen is it? I can't see Bradley being a wise decision and I'm not sure about Erikson. Kinnsman & Billic are both interesting but risky. As far as the other candidates listed in the poll... not on your nelly!
