Villa Drawn Against SK Rapid Wien In Europa

Aston Villa have drawn against Austrian team SK Rapid Wien in the Europa League.

Thread: Click Here

SK were drawn first so we play away first leg.

The SK representative was funny, when they were drawn against us he started shaking his head as if to say 'oh no' !

We won't mention the last time we played them, ok?

The matches will take place on Thursday, August 19 (away) and August 26 at Villa Park

How can the same ***** happen to the same club twice?

Hopefully they'll do us a favour and knock us out again, otherwise we're going to really struggle in the competitions that matter

Never went to the away game last season, but at home I remember commenting that they were the best away fans I have witnessed in over 40 years of going to Villa Park. There were only about 1300 of them but they were nearly all topless and they never stopped singing. Be nice if we had a vocal crew going to the first leg and then could actually give them some vocal competition at Villa Park. Unlike the pathetic noise that was made last season!!! We were frankly embarrasing. The down side is that there are people all over Vienna now commenting on the poor, passionless support at Villa Park. Vienna are probably chuffed to bits at getting one of Europes minnows (a couple of seasons exceptions) with the chance to again progress in a ground half empty and devoid of passion. That my friends is the unfortunate reality.

dont worry we played against rapid vienne last time, these lost are crap.
Avfc94 we do
This news just amazed me when I came home. I can't believe that we are playing against the same team as last year. It's a bit of a worry for me, as they did beat us last time and they might pull of another miracle. But I highly doubt that as Im sure that we will take this team more seriously

I know i could say this about any game .... but it all depends on which team MON puts out and how serious he is .... not only that if Randy is serious about it too... all he seems to want to do is reduce our wage bill and the size of our squad and pack it out with youngsters who just are not ready for whats asked of them. I do also think back to the Liverpool away game last season and why when we beat them so convincingly at Anfield why he did stick with that formation or at least use it more often.

didn't * stick with the same formation
