The Official Site has already started it's build up for tomorrow's home friendly against Valencia so suppose I should get in on the act aswell.
Carlos Cuellar Click Here and Click Here both have differing reasons to be happy to see La Liga's third most successful club role into B6 although sadly with his injury, the joy is probably a touch bittersweet for Carlos.
Speaking before he realised he would be sidelined for the game, Cuellar said:
'I am happy that Valencia are coming because it is a great opportunity to come up against one of the biggest clubs in Spain. I played with Soldado, I know Cesar Sanchez and others from playing against them in Spain.'
Cuellar added that the game is by no means going to be easy, even allowing for the fact that Valencia have recently sold David Villa and David Silva.
'They have sold two or three big player but they have replaced them with other good players. We are going to find ourselves against a really big club.'
John Carew spent 5 successful years at Valencia and has said the good memories of his time at the club have already been flooding back. Winning the league title, and narrowly losing the 2001 Champions League final are but two of those memories.
'We had a fantastic team at the time, we were in the Champions League every year. It was fantastic to be part of a team like that.'
Tickets for the clash are £15 for adults and £5 for juniors. It's our only home friendly of this pre season so the atmosphere is bound to be electric as the non travellers dust of the cobwebs in their throat and gear up for yet another season of Villans football.
Kick off is 7.45pm so don't be late!
