Andreas Weimann has praised Villa's established forwards for helping him develop in training so he can be an outside bet for a run out against Valencia.
Weimann has done well this pre season, and has shown just how far he has come since really making a name for himself in our reserves last season and he's quick to put a lot of praise and thanks on Gabby, Carew, and Heskey for helping him develop into the player he clearly can become.
Speaking on the Official Site Weimann said he was hoping to be involved in the Valencia clash but simply his involvement so far in the first team pre season is a vindication of his talent, his hard work and the help he has been receiving on the training ground.
'John, Emile and Gabby are all great strikers and Nathan too. I couldn't wish for any better forwards to develop alongside them.'
Weimann adds that it's great as a young player having such a diverse set of forwards, with Gabby's pace, Carew's hold up play and then Emile's aerial ability and if he can work on each of the elements it will turn him into a complete all round player.
'I think I'm improving, I had a good season in the reserves and I think I am a bit further on than last season now. After the Walsall match the manager said I had a good game - that gave me a boost.'
It was certainly a good game with him bagging two and being desperately unlucky that a third hit the post.
Weimann may be a little too young this season to figure in the Prem itself, but I'm confident we'll see plenty of him in Cup and Europa games. But you never know, he could surprise us.
