3 For 1 Spurs and Villa Swap Deal (Ahem!)

One bit of wild gossip with no real back up or press links says that Spurs would be prepared to let us have... wait for it.... David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas AND Robbie Keane for our very own Ashley Young.

Blimey. That is starting to look - albeit totally made up I am quite sure - like a great deal? Bentley on form is a top class winger. Jermaine Jenas appears to be a marmite player but I was concentrating on both him and Keane over in New York as they played v Sporting Lisbon and the New York Red Bulls and I like his movement and his distribution.

As for Robbie Keane, my Spurs mate isn't quite so sure and thinks the player might have run out of steam now but again, it appeared to me, albeit in a pre-season with little pressure, that he was making good pass and moves + intelligent positionning. We have the pace at Villa, he could add a little bit of wisdom to the moves perhaps?

All mad speculation really but hey, why not, lets ask a poll.

Would you take those three for Ashley Young or is Young 'irreplaceable'?

Oh and some pants about a deal being agreed for James Milner. I'll believe it when I see it on the official site.

Well it looks like the Fear rumour machine has done it's usual trick:-

Frankly we might as well swap him for three magic beans as that lot

Agreed Callum_ws. But no way would I swap all 3 for that flash in the pan, one season wonder Ashley Young. Sorry, no deal.

Milner has to sign a new contract or he should go now!!..Whats the point otherwise?..1 season..would turn out to be the most expensive loan deal Villa have ever had..Barry cost 6 mill for one season..not worth it!!!

The logistics of one swap deal are pretty complicated, so to suggest three players in one go strikes me as pretty close to impossible! Suspect the Milner deal is probably dead for the moment - MoN and Mancini are just waiting to see who blinks first - might come to life again prior to the window closing.

Well snacky, first off you have to get 4 players to agree to move to another cub - not terrribly easy. Then you have to sort out personal terms with at least 4 agents or representatives, possibly more. Then you have to get the agreement of both clubs' boards, both managers etc. etc. So yeah, I am talking about logisitics, and given the rarity of swap deals involving one player, I'd say you have more chance of potty training your rocking horse than getting this deal to go through.
