Would You Like To See Gareth Barry Back?

Would You Like To See Gareth Barry Back?

With Yaya Toure, Patrik Viera, Nigel De Jong, Adam Johnson, David Silva, Shaun Wright Phillips, Stephen Ireland (at this time), and Milner on the way, Gareth Barry must be feeling the pinch of the bench.

Would you be willing to welcome him back?

Gareth Barry left last summer after a decade with the club, a popular figure during his time, he spent 2 years as club captain.

But here is a question for you, would you be happy if he came back as part of the Milner deal?

Whether he want to come back, whether Martin O'Neill would want him back of course both remain to be seen however I think it is an interesting question as many fans felt upset and let down when he 'intimated' (I like this word, not a clue what it means however) that he wanted a move away from the club.

Man City have a squad pushing 40 players now which isn't good considering the new 25 man squad ruling, so it is likely that fringe players will be loaned out or even sold. Gareth Barry was an important part of their side last season, but with 2 midfielders alreay signed and Milner likely to follow.........is Gareth Barry going to get much playing time?

Would you have him back?

I hope, HOPE we don't get wright-phillips as part of any deal for milner if he goes to city. I don't think Barry is the same person who left us. His confidence looks shot to pieces at times. I don't think he'd ever be able to forget the move to city, just like we wouldn't...

Never go back, Gareth Barry always has been and still is my favourite player. But, he's getting old now, and he is not the same player compared to when he was with us at Villa. He should never have left in the first place; but he did. We need to look to a new talent now, whether it's Steven Defour or somebody else, we need someone new!

Anyone from City will surely be on too much wages to fit ours or most teams wage structure. (Another reason why Milner will be a fool to join them to get replaced in a year's time.)

Trekker - you summed up what I was trying to say in two words I think. Plus Oneill doesnt strike me as a man that will forgive and forget too easily.

Alright lads, contrary to popular belief City as it stands only have to trim it's squad by six players. I can fairly safely assume that Barry won't be going anywhere.

After the way he fannied us and our club about? Pah - no chance from me. He wanted the millionaires bench, let him have it. And I pray to God that He spares us from Shaun Wright Phillips....

to be honest i think we play better football wiyhout him, his england career is almost certainly over, or should be, i for one would not want him anywhere near Villa, so my answer is---NO

Not sure, doesn't seem to be the same player as he was at Villa that, like Milner bullied his way into the England team. He like many others, had a bad or at least average world cup, so his confidence must be gone too!
