International Lads Back In Training

James Milner, Stephen Warnock, Emile Heskey and Brad Guzan returned to Bodymoor Heath for training today, but it's all eyes on Milner.

The International representatives were given extra time off in order to allow them some holiday following the World Cup but following Martin O'Neill's comments the other day that Milner would not be signing a new contract and intimated he wanted to leave for the pastures of Man City - comments which angered Milner although his anger was unquoted - the only thing anyone cares about it is the plans talks between manager and player today.

The press have obviously furthered the parallels with the Gareth Barry situation last season, given our Walsall friendly tomorrow at the Bescot Stadium. Barry played in that fixture to a chorus of boos, jeers and cheers from the fans and plenty have talked about Milner suffering the same fate given the comments by the manager.

It would however be hugely unlikely that any of the four internationals would figure tomorrow but stranger things have happened. It's far more likely we'll see them in action on our tour of Portugal.

Milner's future or lack thereof could be decided by the time of Wednesday's flight...it'll be interesting to see if he travels with the team or not, especially with Spurs apparently now in the hunt for his services as well.

Hopefully the club will make a statement later today and both parties will be clear on their 'agreed' interpretation of the pre World Cup meeting that left the club initially saying 'positive and hopeful' which is a touch different from 'won't sign a new contract and intimated he wants out' the recollection Milner disputes.
