'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Who would you rather, Bellamy or Keano?

We asked the users of Vital Villa who they would rather see in a Villa shirt this season Man City's Craig Bellamy or Robbie Keane of Spurs, we can now reveal the results.

Keane won by some way with 65% of the votes beating Bellamy's 35%.

Robbie Keane is hotly tipped to join the club from Tottenham Hotspur in time for the new season, many believe its a few years too late, but at 29, surely he is not past it?

Craig Bellamy on the other hand is being strongly linked to replace Keane at Spurs as Harry Redknapp prepares his side for their first Champions League campaign.

Our new poll (suggested by Avfc94) is abit of fun - 'What's more annoying?' - Lack of signings or Go Compare adverts

LOL @ new poll. Think that some Spuz vitalonians may have been voting for Robbie in the hope that we get him. Then again it seems many Villans have accepted the fact that he's coming our way.

Take Keano, balance the play, Keano can run round the pitch, arm waiving, ref chasing, and MON ''son of raymond'' (french manager) can do the same up and down his area, job lot, perhaps get them irish dancing at half time, b jesusss,

Not much between them, they are both gobby, both have off days and both can and will score goals. I think Keane might just shade it (No not because I am Irish) I think he is a slightly better package. Of far more concern to me is the rumour we are after Mc Geady for 10mil now that would be very bad business. COTV

Bellamy is probably all of the things above but when he is injured, which appears to be more often than not these days, he isn't much use to anyone.

Bellamy for me every time - two reasons: pace and flexibility i.e. he can work in a 4-3-3. The downside is his dodgy (I believe) knees means he may have limited time left.

Know what you mean about MON's reluctance to go for big names YJ but "He's better than Heskey" shouldn't be a reason to buy anyone. Think that we've got to go abroad and take a gamble on someone who hasn't played in the prem before, but again it's not in MON's capabilities. sigh

Personally I wish we were chasing younger, more Villa-worthy strikers, which admittedly for all we the supporters know, we may well be. Five or six seasons ago I'd have welcomed the fact that we might be in for Bellamy or Keane, but time has moved on since then. Neither is getting any younger, and neither is the player they used to be. We all know that lack of goals and a convincing striker or two was our biggest failing last season, in fact over the course of the past few seasons that is where we have struggled, but whether either Keane or Bellamy would be the answer to our prayers, only time will tell. Whoever we sign out of those two, and at this moment in time it looks like Robbie Keane is the favourite, it would only be a short term stop gap signing. Neither would be around for too much longer. If I had to choose between the two, I'd have to go for Robbie Keane, but as I say, the very fact that there has to be better, although admittedly more pricier options out there, either at home or abroad, frustrates somewhat.

Bendtner or Huntelaar please.

Huntelaar would be a great signing. It's a shame Bellamy is such a divot, on his day he's devastatingly quick and has an eye for goal.....but if he comes and upsets MON, he'll get stuck in the cupboard with Reo-Coker and the rest. It all depends on the money though, at 4-5 million, Keane might be OK for a couple of seasons.

What happened to Vagner Love? He'd be good! He was caught with a pornstar recently and his comment was ""Hey, I'm known for being amorous; let's be honest, this reputation isn't one that unsettles me." He'd get along with Carew pretty well I think!
