The Aston Villa Transfer Rumours Round Up

The Aston Villa Transfer Rumours Round Up

Ok, so transfers are about to start, it always happens when there are the fewest rumours doing the rounds!!! (Don't take that to the bank and no, I'm not talking from an 'in the know' position...!)

Only snippets we have had today - with nothing yesterday - is that Nicky Shorey is holding out for a move to a Premiership team instead of moving to Nottingham Forest, where he is wanted and was on loan last season. James Nursey at The Mirror has the report and suggests Fulham is where Shorey is wanting to move to as he also had a loan spell there, obviously Roy Hodgson has since moved on. Funnily enough the rumour before Hodgson went was that Shorey, Steve Sidwell and John Carew were all potentially Fulham bound. Actually, not that funny really was it?!

Not directly Villa related but The Guardian say that Craig Bellamy is available for transfer after Manchester City bought David Silva. So is this the start of the domino effect? Would you move for Bellamy if you were MON? I like him, nasty snarling player who just wants to win, win, win! Spurs I believe are interested (when I say I believe, I mean I've read it in the press by the way!) and obviously they have Champions League to offer, or at least CL qualifying round to offer.

The report also says that Stephen Ireland wants to leave (linked to us numerous times) and that they club would listen to offers for full back Nedum Onuoha who has also been linked to us several times.

The Guardian says that Ashley Young is wanted by Spurs and Liverpool. Oh, and Manchester City... gulp!

The Guardian had a report saying that Manchester City won't meet our asking price of around £30million for James Milner. Fair enough, trot on then! Apparently City want to offer in the region of £20m including add ons. The report says City will give up and turn their attention elsewhere if a compromise can't be reached... so £24- £25m. Some of the power lies with Milner and what he wants but Randy and crew have proved before, with Barry, that they won't sell unless the price is right.

And totally un-related to Villa and indeed transfers, but a line that made me laugh this morning... Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham says if he was not a football player he would like to build Lego for a living. Who can say fairer than that!? lol (

So, as it is a quiet news day again, what would you rather be doing right now?!?!? (Keep it clean!!!)

Our latest poll asks if you would try to sign Craig Bellamy!

Oh and for those that missed it, a well informed article... for once... NO Sell To Buy At Aston Villa

Great to see The Fonz picrured in our new kit on the O/S. Not sogreat to see Heskey in it though. Nice guy and all that but us fans deserve more and I was hoping that he was going to go into obscurity after his self ommission from the national team.
