BUMPER Aston Villa Transfer Talk

BUMPER Aston Villa Transfer Talk

Not sure why but I've said from the start the Robbie Keane to Villa is a shoe in and the press certainly seem to agree as the link comes up week after week.

Oh, before we get into this transfer talk, thought I'd point out this link to the BBC transfer section, just illustrates that there have been very few big ... or indeed any sized moves ... for ANY premiership club yet, so no panic for Villa ! BBC Sport...Click Here

Now then, what was I saying about Keano!? Oh yes, the press are again saying a move to Villa is likely.

Aidan Magee at The News Of The World says that Villa have been offered... wait for it... AC Milan striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar. Full details Click Here

Seems a lot in the News of the World today, although to be fair, I'm typing but I can't get that Huntelaar link out of my head now! Anyway, another report says that Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas will reject a move to Villa as he looks to fight for his place at the Spuds. Cliff Hayes has an exclusive with quotes from the player saying that last season was ruined by injury but he wants to stay at White Hart Lane.

Neil Ashton at, yes, you've guessed it, The News Of The World says that Emile Heskey might be on his way to Celtic as part of a swap deal with Aiden McGeady moving to Villa Park. Actually, I know little to nothing about McGeady but at face value, you would think that could be an excellent move for Heskey? He hasn't exactly lit up Villa Park or indeed the Premiership but might be a different prospect in the SPL?

He will surely be moving on this summer? He has already been linked with a move to Stoke. (Lovely train station at Stoke by the way, thought I'd throw in that useless fact!)

The same report repeats the Stephen Ireland as part of the James Milner deal rumour.

The press are also - again - linked Steve Sidwell to Fulham. Makes sense, he hasn't broken into our set up and won't want to remain a bit part player, maybe he can find favour elsewhere, got to say he has been a major disappointment since moving from Chelsea, his debut goal (away at Wigan) was great and I expected so much more from him, but he seems to drift badly in games and you can't really blame MON for benching him. Shame, thought he was going to be a really good signing!

Wigan defender Paul Scharner, available on a free this summer, has been linked to Villa and Sunderland, his agent says his dream move would be to team up with new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson who showed an interest in him whilst Fulham manager.

Ralph Ellis from The Mirror says that Villa will rescue Spurs winger/midfielder David Bentley from another bit part season at White Hart Lane. Bentley chose Spurs over Villa a few years back and moved to his childhood club for £16million. I do however know he showed great respect to Villa in their approach and a lot of his decision was based around wanting a return to London for personal reasons. He'd be an ideal addition to Villa in my ever so humble opinion, if his head is sorted and he concentrates on his game, he is a class act.

Bentley is quoted as saying: 'I`m at Tottenham at the minute, but let`s see what happens.' The report says he would now be available for around £8million.

The Mirror also says that James Milner's future won't be sorted out until he returns from holiday (extended break following the World Cup) and goes back to training on July 25.

So there you have it, the gossip is hotting up, only a matter of time before the transfers actually start to happen.

David Bentley, Stephen Ireland, Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Robbie Keane and throw in Eduardo as well... easy! lol

I like Huntelaar alot...more than Beattie ;-) !!!!! Seriously though, he would bring a finesse to Villa that we haven't seen since Nilis. Bentley is an A1 football player but unfortunately he is also an A1**** so I would not want the disqualified driver at Villa. Keane, Huntelaar, Ireland and i'll be a happy little bunny.

I agree with Albarnista, remember Huntelaar against us in the Wayfer Cup and he did nothing.

I was a big Barry fan, he was brilliant. It's just a case of forgiveness, I dunno if I want Villa being his fall back now he's realised he didn't actually want to leave.
