The Season Starts Tomorrow

The Season Starts Tomorrow

That's right folks, most of the players report back to Bodymoor Heath tomorrow for pre season training.

The official site is promising plenty of coverage from interviews, photos and videos of the lads back at work so transfers, rumours, and everything else that drives us crazy before the big kick off is bound to start properly.

Bring your own valium, it will not be supplied.

As expected James Milner, Emile Heskey, brad Guzan and Stephen Warnock have been given an extended break to recover from their World Cup experience, so they'll probably be back in training in another fortnight although you wouldn't expect them to figure in any of the pre season games prior to our Eire trip.

Pre-Season Matches Confirmed

July 18: Basingstoke v Villa XI - The Camrose - 2pm
July 19: Peterborough v Villa - London Road - 7.45pm
July 24: Bohemians v Villa - Dalymount Park - 3pm
July 27: Walsall v Villa - Banks's Stadium - 7.45pm
July 31: Villa v Feyenoord - San Antonio Stadium - 9.15pm
August 1: Villa v Benfica - San Antonio Stadium - 9.15pm
August 6: Villa v Valencia - Villa Park - 7.45pm

Personally i've never felt so low before the start of a new season. To see how far we have slipped in international terms (yes, the states are now a better side) just goes to show that something needs to change. In a few weeks it all starts again and we'll hear the same old ***** being piped out of the sky tubes as we all gather in tribal colours to watch foreigners play the game on our own turf. The greatest show on earth.....maybe not.

Glad to see that Emule and Warnock are having a nice extra break. Warnock must be very tired from all that sitting down and Emule almost broke a sweat during the Slovenia game, poor old soul.
