'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Press Transfer Rumours For Aston Villa!

Well two papers today are saying Manchester City are now expected to put in an improved bid for James Milner.

The Times says that City will improve on their £20million in the next week or so.

The Telegraph are also sure they will return to 'lure' Milner to Manchester.

They say that Roberto Mancini is still keen on Milner ... and I quote... 'despite Milner's unremarkable World Cup campaign with England'.

?

I thought he was one of only a few players to come out of the campaign with any credit at all?

With Villa still wanting the £30million sort of fee, this report says that Man City will now wait for Milner and his agent to signal their intent. I assume this means they want him to hand in a transfer request? They want him in time for their USA pre-season tour on July 12 (I'll be at that in New York, I hope Milner isn't!)

Other whispers still suggest it will be Manchester he goes, but the United side as opposed to the City!

Meanwhile The Birmingham Mail has linked us again with Wigan Athletic's Columbian striker Hugo Rodallega.

He has been linked before (Wigan's £10million rated striker Hugo Rodallega. Click Here) and the Mail says that Villa will step up their interest after Wigan signed Mauro Boselli.

As mentioned on Vital the other day, John Carew is set for talks with Villa about a new contract: (Carew Contract Talks) but even so, Villa are desperate for a proven goalscorer with massive question marks over Emile Heskey's future at Villa (linked to Stoke).

Villa apparently will have to compete for the signing of South Korea defender Cho Yong-hyung, with Fulham and Newcastle United also interested. The 26-year-old who plays for K-League club Jeju United, is on the transfer list and according to his agent, 'Aston Villa and a few other European clubs have shown interest in Cho. I can confirm that he is on their transfer list and I expect the official deal will be made after the World Cup.'

Milner actually set up the goal which won England there match and played very strongly when he got the chance. It would be sad to see him go, but it would hurt less if he moved to United because that proves that he wants to go to a successful club rather then moving on to a club with the same ambitions as Villa Rodallega is a proven striker and I would like him in Villa Park, but who would he link with and 10 million is a lot of money for such a player Cho Yong, hmm I dont know if anything will happen there. No quotes from anyone expect from the agent and with Davies still here I dont see it happening

No thanks to Rodallega, he hasn't proven anything to me. One good goal against us, and then he scored against Chelsea in a 3-1 loss. Other than that he has done nothing, and isn't someone I'd want at Villa. Of all the strikers we have been linked with, Keane is the only guy I'd want to see come in. Even though he didn't do much scoring at Liverpool (One of the best goals I've ever seen against Arsenal) he did a lot of creating, which is never a bad thing. I'd be quite happy with Scott Parker and Keano. As for the Korean CB, not interested. We have too many centerbacks, so much so that we play them at right back

@__villa__, Same ambitions as Villa? hahahahaha thats the funniest thing ive heard all year, Are you for 1 looking at winning the league next season? or for 2 buying anyone worth it?, thats a joke statement you made my friend and you should rethink cos while villa are content with a top6 finish anything other than 2-3rd (and nomore than 4-5 points behind the winners) is good enough for City! so i do believe we have brighter and bigger ambitions than your tinpot club (we have the brightest future in football and if u cant see that then your blind with jealousy)

"anything other than 2-3rd (and nomore than 4-5 points behind the winners) is good enough for City." Good to know. So relegation is good enough for City? Thanks for Dunne and have fun spending over 100 mil two years in a row and not qualifying for Champions league. Money may by talent, but winning isn't all about talent, you have to have some kind of team
TheYank
We are both chasing the top 4 but of course Man. City have a better chance then us because of there money Realisticly of course we are aiming for 6th/5th Man. City aiming for league title?? Thats what they dream it takes a step at a time they will be aiming for Champions League like us so thats what I meant

Have to agree with __Villa__ - we need to take things one step at a time. Finishing 4th would do me next season, anything more would be a bonus. And our ambitions aren't that different, MON and Villa want to win the league as does every other club in the premier league. It's just that our spending power has given us higher expectations than most, and hopefully a realistic chance of getting close. Can't see Villa being too far behind us again next season, but with our squad we really do have to expect to finish above the majority of teams.
