South Korean Centre Half On Villa Radar?

According to the agent of Cho Yong-hyung, Aston Villa are keeping tabs on the 26 yr old South Korean international.

The report and quotes are almost every where today, but it's simply hard to not see it as the agent just talking up interest for his client.

Cho is a 26 year old centre half and has played all four games for S Korea in the World Cup, as they reached the last 16 for the first time on foreign soil.

But how many centre halves do we need, and given the obvious areas of the squad that need strengthening you could only think we would be in for another defender if at least two of our current bunch were due to move on.

Unless of course he can play right back?

Yoon Ki-yeon his agent, said in The Korea Herald:

'Aston Villa and a few other European clubs have shown interest in Cho, I can confirm he is on their transfer list and I expect the official deal with be made after the World Cup.'

I just don't see it myself.

I've been thinking exactly the same everytime we get linked to a defender, which is quite often. Makes no sense at all to me seeing that Curtis is supposed to be leaving and I suspect it's just more utter rubbish.

we should not under estimate the benefit a Asia player would have to our turn over. Just look at Park at Manure... he is OK... no where near a Manure player but they give him game time to keep the dollars flowing in from Asia. A signing like that could add £10m to the turn over... Obviously he'll need to be half decent tho.

Well our centre backs do have to cover the two centre defence and right back positions so we do need a fair few of them

Interesting...I thought the other Korean centre-half JungSoo was pretty decent. Park Chu-Young the striker who we were linked to before the world cup also looked good.
